Week 0 - Introduction

There are many things to say about alexpgp, many achievements to list, and many entries to point at, but I think there's one thing that sums him up: he's a professional's professional.

He's also probably one of the most interesting people you'll meet. He writes extensively about a wide range of topics: translation, chess, computers, life in general; and he does so much like I imagine he would play a game, moving pieces around to set up a strong early game, maneuvering until he's poised to take the victory, and then delivering a strong finish.

He writes fiction, too, and it's just as strong as his nonfiction. He writes humor, too, one of the hardest things to do, and weaves it through his pieces deftly and strongly.

He's going to be in the top 10, I'd be willing to bet; if you read through his pieces, I think you'll agree. But there's something you probably didn't know. He's been there already! He made it through to the top 4 in one season, made it through 31 straight weeks another...
