Lol! That, and when I read, I read in my own (mental) voice; "you" in my voice means I'm talking about someone else, because in my voice an abstract concept representing "Jem" is me and "you" is not me. ;)
Thanks! I think the other version is more traditional, but it's something I try to think about when I use "you".
