Firstly I want to say that I think you do a great job and I hope you don't encounter too much snobbery from the medical community at large. What you do is incredibly important and having worked with abused kids (something you see all too often in kids hospitals when the children have been placed there by social workers and the parents aren't allowed to visit and the damage done to their little minds and bodies is heartbreaking to witness) , I can't imagine what it must be like to enter their homes and know that abuse is going on and have to refrain from taking the child and running away with them.
